Itinerary

Day 1: Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) Private Adventure

Early Morning Pickup and Drive to Cusipata

Pickup begins between 3:30 AM and 3:40 AM from your hotel or hostel in Cusco. You will travel south toward Qollasuyo, an important region during the Inca Empire (Tawantinsuyo).

After approximately two hours, you will arrive in the district of Cusipata, where you will stop for about 30 minutes to enjoy breakfast.

Transfer to Fulawasipata and Start of the Hike

Following breakfast, transportation continues to Fulawasipata, the starting point of the hike. Before beginning, your guide will provide a short briefing about the route and safety recommendations.

The hike begins at the base of the Ausangate mountain range. You will ascend for approximately one hour to reach the highest viewpoint of Rainbow Mountain. Along the way, you may see South American camelids such as alpacas and llamas grazing in the highlands.

Arrival at Rainbow Mountain

Upon reaching the summit, you will have time to admire the stunning natural colors of Vinicunca and take photographs of the surrounding Andean scenery.

If you choose, you may continue an additional 30-minute walk to visit Red Valley (optional, extra entrance fee required).

Descent and Lunch

After enjoying the views, you will hike back down for approximately one hour (including flat sections) to the starting point, where your driver will be waiting.

You will then return to Cusipata to enjoy a one-hour lunch break.

Return to Cusco

After lunch, you will begin the return journey to Cusco, arriving at approximately 3:00–3:30 PM, concluding your private Rainbow Mountain experience.
