Private Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Full Day Tour

Early Morning Pickup and Scenic Drive

Your adventure begins at 4:00 AM with pickup from your hotel in Cusco. You will travel in private transportation toward the small village of Checacupe, located south of the city. Here, you will stop briefly to visit an Inca and colonial bridge and to purchase any last-minute items such as snacks, drinks, sunscreen, or rain ponchos.

Arrival at Base Camp and Short Hike

After the stop, you will continue for about one more hour to reach the Palcoyo base camp. From there, you will begin a gradual uphill hike lasting approximately 30–45 minutes to reach the Palcoyo Pass (4,880 m / 16,000 ft).

At the top, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the three Rainbow Mountains, the impressive red mountain formations, the Ausangate glacier (the highest mountain in the Cusco region), and the unique Stone Forest. You will have around one hour to take photos and fully appreciate the incredible scenery.

Descent and Lunch

After enjoying the views, you will descend along the same trail back to base camp. Then, you will take your private vehicle to enjoy a freshly prepared hot lunch.

Return to Cusco

Following lunch, you will begin the return journey to Cusco in your private vehicle. Arrival at your hotel is approximately 5:30 PM, marking the end of this unforgettable Andean experience.
